Endodontics

Endodontics includes treating or removing an inflamed nerve in the root canal.

Endodontics

Endodontics involves treating or removing an inflamed nerve in the root canal.

Do you have a toothache or sensitive teeth, but postpone the visit to the dentist for fear of root canal treatment?
Often, not well-informed patients and the myths of a painful root canal treatment stop them from doing the necessary procedures. All this can hurt the oral and dental health of patients.

Modern endodontics is the application of quality treatment of the root canals of diseased teeth.

Many patients find that root canal treatments are excruciating, which leads them to ignore that endodontic treatment aims to relieve severe discomfort and prevent inflammation from reaching the nerves in the center of the tooth.

In Medstom dental clinics, we perform endodontic treatment at the highest level, using the latest technologies - from the isolation of the tooth with a rubber dam, through the precise processing of the most complex root canals under a microscope, to filling them with the most modern materials and medical equipment.

The precise endodontic treatment of the root canals guarantees the survival of the tooth and the success of the intervention in the treatment of granuloma, extraction, and devitalizing a nerve.

What is modern endodontics?

You have probably wondered, what else can an endodontist offer you in root canal treatment than what so many dentists have done so far?

Today's endodontics indeed has modern equipment and various techniques to correct the causes that led to tooth extraction.

It is essential to note that contamination in the root canal space plays a key role in endodontic failure.

In Medstom dental clinics, we have the ProTaper Universal® system - the latest generation of nickel-titanium endodontic system, which covers all areas of root canal treatment - manual and machine processing, treatment in case of unsuccessful treatment.

Machine files provide fast and high-quality root canal shaping. Their special design - with an inactive tip - allows safe and secure expansion. Their shape corresponds as much as possible to the shape of the root canal, which minimizes the stress in the tool during operation, thus limiting the possibility of errors in the processing of the channels. The nickel-titanium structure provides the tools' exceptional flexibility, making them especially suitable for difficult-to-handle root canal - with large curves and narrowings.

The special set of files for root canals treatment makes it possible to remove the old filling from the canal and subsequently properly shape and fill.

Re-treatment of root canals

The most common reason for endodontic re-treatment is improper previous treatment.

Due to the poor quality of root canal treatment, previously treated teeth can often become infected again. In this case, it is necessary to remove the old canal-filling material. This can be done with microscopic endodontics, which re-cleans the root canal and closes hermetically.

The likelihood that the infection can recover after endodontic treatment is minimal. New technologies for work in Medstom dental clinics make it possible to destroy most of the root canal's microorganisms.

Microscopic endodontics

We have a modern dental microscope, which is used mainly in root canal treatment. We trusted a manufacturer with many years of experience, proven in the field of the optical industry - GLOBAL SURGICAL.

The microscope combines all the necessary characteristics for diagnosis and dental treatment, whose main advantages are:

  • Accuracy in diagnosis is guaranteed, because the correct, correct and accurate diagnosis is an extremely important step in the treatment process;
  • Facilitates the visualization of root cracks and fractures;
  • Predictability in the removal of pins and old duct filling materials;
  • Provides the ability to detect and remove a broken tool in the root canal.

The device's functionalities provide an opportunity to combine science and professionalism, helping to detect problems that are impossible to see with the naked eye.

The microscope enters medicine and becomes an integral part of clinical and laboratory diagnostic work. It is a way to identify lesions or specific anatomical root canal systems that are insufficiently visible to the naked eye in dentistry.

Working with a dental microscope

The dental microscope allows for better visualization and precision at work.

The magnification can be from 2 to 20 times, and the implemented optical and mechanical solutions provide excellent ergonomics and comfort.

The microscope provides a good diagnosis and conditions for careful processing, precision, microinvasiveness, and perfect polishing.

In endodontics, it provides the ability to detect extra anatomy, specifics of the root canal system, denticles, separated instruments, perforations, and thresholds.
