Prosthetic Dentistry

Prosthetic dentistry is the part of dentistry that deals with the restoration of defects in teeth.

Includes placement of dentures, silicone dentures, dental bridges, dental crowns, or cermets.

Damage or lack of teeth leads to loss of aesthetic and biological functionality, facial asymmetry, and impaired self-esteem.

This type of problem is solved through the so-called. prosthetics or replacement of missing or severely damaged teeth with artificial ones.

Depending on the functional and aesthetic features of the clinical case, different techniques and materials can be used to build stable structures that most closely resemble natural teeth.

In Medstom dental clinics we have the best specialists in prosthetic dentistry.

According to the needs of each patient, we offer the following prosthetic manipulations:

  • metal-ceramic or metal-plastic (blend) crowns - this type of crowns are made of metal skeleton and a special alloy (precious metals such as gold and platinum).
    In them, a special highly aesthetic ceramic (porcelain) is applied to the metal skeleton. This is done in the laboratory stages in the dental laboratory.
    Dental crowns are one of the high-quality constructions used in dentistry. They are modern means of restoring teeth without contraindications for the patient. With modern ceramics, every dentist can provide his patients with quality and long-lasting denture;

  • dentures and microprostheses - dentures are orthopedic devices that replace already lost natural teeth. When certain teeth are extracted due to some diseases such as periodontitis, granulomas, pulpitis, periodontitis, etc., various edentulous areas are created. When these areas cannot be repaired using bridges, crowns or implants, dentures must be made. Dentures come in different types and depend on how many and which teeth will be replaced.
    Usually, almost all types of dentures are removable and belong to the class of removable dentures. They are a little more uncomfortable than non-removable bridges, crowns, and implants;

  • splinting for bruxism - when you press or clench your teeth, it leads to periodontal damage, premature abrasion of the teeth, pain in the masticatory muscles and the mandibular joint. In such a condition, experts are adamant that once the causes are identified, they can be removed by placing individual splints. They are worn at night and can be a solution to the problem;

  • ceramic crowns and veneers - the difference between crowns and veneers is that the crowns cover the entire inner surface of the tooth, and the veneers - only part of it. Crowns and veneers are surface components that change the structure and appearance of an existing natural tooth. Both options require treatment of the tooth on which they will be placed.

The crowns are modified to such an extent as to perfectly imitate the natural surface of the dentin, covering the entire natural tooth.

The veneer is a thin shell made of porcelain, placed only on the visible front and side of the tooth. The preparation for the veneers is small, and the natural tooth is not really completely sharpened.
